Our Vision for this Network

We want Connect in Care to represent a diverse community of staff who are united by the values they share. Through its activities, resources and connections it will facilitate members to develop themselves, their practice and the care environments in which they work. Its ultimate purpose is to improve the quality and experience of care for older people in Scotland.

Connect in Care will promote the values of relationship-based care through creative, interactive and experiential learning events and processes. We will deliver learning events inside care settings to engage the whole community in critical dialogue around care practice and the experiences of both older people and care workers.

By enabling members to experience the satisfaction of learning practice development skills that are assessed and accredited, we will build capacity. The success of Connect in Care’s activities in changing practice will be promoted through a range of marketing activities to secure the continued commitment of members and the longer term support of policy-makers and potential funders.

What the members learn about the methods and methodologies of practice development will be shared with the wider practice development community, thus contributing to our growing understanding of the change process.
